Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of concerns do people bring to you? People come to me when early experiences seem to still be living in the body. That can look like:
  • birth or medical trauma (for parents, babies, or adults who were once those babies)
  • feeding, sleep, bonding, or regulation challenges with babies and young children
  • feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or “stuck” for reasons that don’t fully make sense
  • adults sensing early life patterns in relationships or the nervous system
  • professionals wanting training in prenatal/perinatal somatics and touch-informed care
If you’re unsure whether your situation fits, that’s very normal — you’re welcome to ask.

What happens in a session? Every session is different, but may include:
  • gentle conversation and tracking body sensations
  • education about the nervous system and early patterns
  • hands-on work (with consent) such as craniosacral or somatic touch
  • supporting babies and parents together, not just the baby alone
We move slowly, check in often, and your body sets the pace.

Do you work with babies and children?Yes. I support:
  • pregnant and postpartum parents
  • babies and young children with regulation, feeding, sleep, or birth-related stress
  • families navigating difficult pregnancy, birth, or NICU experiences
Sessions with babies always include parents or caregivers — you are central to the process.

Do you work with adults who don’t remember early life? Absolutely. You do not need clear memories. Early experiences live in the body through:
  • nervous system responses
  • relationship patterns
  • sensations and symptoms
  • emotional themes
We work with present-moment experience, not forced memory or regression.

What is “prenatal and perinatal somatics”?It’s an approach that looks at how experiences from conception, pregnancy, birth, and early bonding shape the nervous system. Using gentle body-based awareness and touch, we support the system in finding more safety, regulation, and connection now.

Is touch required? No. Touch is always optional and consent-based. Many sessions are primarily verbal and awareness-based. If touch is used, it is:
  • gentle
  • fully explained
  • changeable at any time
You can say yes, no, or not right now — and change your mind at any point.

How many sessions will I need? It depends on your goals. Some people come for a few sessions around a specific issue; others prefer longer-term support. We will check in together about pacing and frequency so it fits your life and nervous system.

Do you offer online sessions? Yes, for many types of adult and professional work. Hands-on support with babies and some somatic work is best in person. We can discuss what’s appropriate during a consultation.

Do you offer training for professionals? Yes. I teach and mentor practitioners in:
  • prenatal and perinatal somatics
  • trauma-informed and touch-aware care
  • ethics and power dynamics in healing work
You can explore current courses through my trainings page or contact me about mentoring.

Do you take insurance? I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide receipts if you choose to submit on your own. Many people also use health savings accounts (HSA/FSA) where appropriate.

What if I feel nervous about starting? That’s completely normal. This work is tender and meaningful. We can begin with a brief consult where you can ask questions, get a sense of me and the work, and decide at your own pace.
You don’t have to be “ready.”
Curiosity is enough.

How do I get started? You can:
  • schedule a brief consultation
  • send me a message with your question
  • choose the pathway that fits you: parents, adults, or professionals
We’ll take it one step at a time.
