I am an advanced somatic practitioner with in-depth training in the prenatal and perinatal field. I started studying prenatal and perinatal work as a maternal and child health specialist in the 1990's. I became a bodyworker in 1995 with the intention of working with the maternity field, and have specialized in prenatal and perinatal therapy over three decades of training and practice, including working with pregnant people, babies, and prevention and treatment of birth trauma.
In 1999, a client remembered her birth on my bodywork table. She explained to me that she felt her earliest trauma was the reason for her lifelong depression and she wanted to heal it. That experience took hold of me with such passion that I am now filling in the gap between our ancestral past and our present lives with recognition of our earliest life experiences starting preconception. It involves appreciating how we have adapted to our difficulties and integrating these early overwhelming experiences into our current lives. |
I offer private sessions, webinars, public talks, intensives, retreats, and professional training programs in prenatal and perinatal somatics.

- I share this little video often with families. Enjoy: The Squeeze Sequence. I often give this little squeeze sequence to parents to do with their babies. The joints have synovial fluid sacs and are literally shock absorbers. I teach parents to gently squeeze and let go, and go down the limbs to help the baby let go and process any shocks from their prenatal life and birth. John Chitty used to says: "Babies need sweet sounds, soft touches." I teach parents how to help their babies every day, and how to see and understand the experiences of their babies/children. Each baby is unique, but there are some universal things to try. I work to meet babies and their families from the inside out so they feel seen, heard and understood, and parents have the tools they need.
